Secomea SiteManager is widely used to provide controlled and secure remote access to PLCs, HMIs and other industrial equipment.

Its built-in Data Collection Module also makes it possible to collect data from industrial protocols such as:

More than a standard cloud connection
The integration between SiteManager and DCC goes beyond simply forwarding machine data.
​
It combines four closely connected capabilities:
1. Efficient and secure data collection through SPD
SiteManager DCM communicates with DCC using Secomea’s SPD protocol.
​
SPD was designed for efficient industrial data delivery, including installations using cellular, satellite or bandwidth-constrained connections. Communication is initiated by the SiteManager and protected using TLS and device-specific certificates.
​
The protocol supports both data delivery and management of the DCM configuration through the same secure communication flow.
​
This gives machine builders an efficient and scalable way to connect deployed SiteManagers to DCC without opening inbound connections at the machine site.
2. Graphical DCM configuration in DCC
DCM normally uses a Secomea-defined JSON configuration.

Inuatek DCC provides a graphical configuration interface on top of this format, allowing users to configure collectors, protocols, addresses and data points without manually editing JSON.
​
Configuration errors and validation feedback are shown directly in DCC, simplifying both initial setup and ongoing maintenance.
3. Automatic configuration synchronization
Configuration changes can be made centrally in DCC and synchronized back to the SiteManager DCM.
​
When the SiteManager communicates with DCC, it checks whether a newer configuration is available and applies the update automatically when cloud configuration updates are enabled.
​
This means that administrators do not need to log into each individual SiteManager to maintain the data collection configuration.
​
Reusable configurations can also support efficient provisioning across fleets of similar machines.
4. API-integrated remote access and machine interaction
The integration also uses Secomea’s API capabilities to connect data insight with secure action.

From a DCC dashboard, an authorized user can:

Open a VNC interface on a connected PLC or HMI
-
Open a web-based visualization or device interface
-
Move directly from an alarm or dashboard to the relevant machine
-
Write an approved value to a Siemens S7 or Modbus PLC
A write operation could, for example, be used to:

Acknowledge or clear an alarm
-
Adjust a setpoint
-
Enter a production batch value
-
Change an approved operating parameter

Access remains dependent on the configured Secomea account, permissions and SiteManager connectivity. PLC logic and system design must ensure that only appropriate registers and safe functions are exposed for writing.

Designed for scalable machine fleets
The integration is suitable for both individual installations and larger fleets of similar machines.
Reusable provisioning
A standard SiteManager configuration can be prepared and reused when provisioning new machines. When a SiteManager connects, DCC establishes its individual device identity and communication credentials.
Central configuration management
Data collection configurations can be maintained from DCC instead of being managed separately on every SiteManager.
Store-and-forward data collection
The SiteManager can buffer collected data during a temporary connection loss and deliver it when connectivity is restored.
Independent remote-access control
Data collection and interactive remote access use separate communication mechanisms. This allows data collection to continue even when interactive remote access has been disabled through the SiteManager’s digital-input control.
Easy SiteManager replacement
A SiteManager can be replaced through the standard GateManager appliance-replacement process without losing the corresponding DCC device identity or historical data relationship.
