DCC VALUE-ADD MODULE

Shift flexible energy use to lower-cost windows.

Energy Cost Optimization combines DCC process context with spot prices, tariffs and other external signals. It calculates the lowest-cost feasible operation while keeping equipment limits and local safety authority in place.

Value path

01

Observe

Build history and understand energy use in process context.

02

Recommend

Show when to run, pause or change a setpoint, the operator decides.

03

Act

Optionally send approved commands through a two-way device PLC/SCADA executes safely.

CANDIDATE QUALIFIER

Good candidate =

measurable state + clear operating limits + controllable load + meaningful flexibility

Typical starting points include refrigeration and process cooling, heating and thermal storage, pumps and utilities, batch timing, charging and batteries.

Control boundary

At every level, local interlocks, alarms and operator override remain authoritative. Active control is optional and follows a GO / NO-GO decision after the model, limits and value have been validated.

EVIDENCE

A recommendation is not a saving. Compare an agreed baseline, actual operation and verified difference; document cost, timing and operational effect before making a savings claim.
